2018 Audi TT Coupe
Having characteristics of a sports car, cabin of a luxury sedan, and the trust of German engineering is what constitutes the Audi TT. It is loaded with a lot of high-tech features which many cars lack and carries its look from Audi’s flagship R8.
The 2018 Audi TT is available from the base price of $43,950 and you can get a drop-top variant too. It gets a 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine which helps drive all the wheels of the car via a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Let’s get to know how it performs in the review below.
- Confident Handling
- Virtual cockpit display
- Intuitive infotainment
- Low on cargo space
- Low rear legroom
- Standard Front parking sensors
The Audi TT comes with a single trim availability. It is however available in 2 different body styles-a coupe and a convertible. The TT is so feature-rich that even if you don’t equip it with extra packages you get all the necessities that one requires in a car.
But if you still need an upgrade Audi provides various packages like Technology and the S Line Competition package. The technology package adds the much-needed Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with the blind-spot monitoring system. Whereas the S Line makes it sportier with 19-inch wheels, sports dampers, and sport seats. The 2018 Audi TT ratings are subpar in comparison to its prominent rivals.
It gets a 2-liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 220 hp and a total torque of 258 lb.-ft.This engine works along a six-speed DCT transmission and sends power to all wheels of the car.
The engine is powerful enough to get it going but what interests the most is Audi TT’s handling. It is track ready and nearly flawless. The AWD does an excellent job in stabilizing the car at high speed and with traction control, it drives sticking to the road. Steering comes with Electric Assist that allows the driver to choose for the easy maneuverability in city or enhanced stability on the highways.
At first glance, the Audi TT looks like a minimized and lower powered version of the Audi R8. It gets flowing lines and is now edgier than what it used to be. Only the round roofline is what makes it look like the older TT’s else all looks new.
Audi TT is a 4-seater car but the 2 rear seats are meant for kids and no adult can fit inside comfortably. So, you can use the rear seats to keep your luggage which won’t fit in its really small trunk. The interior looks good and is pretty intuitive but the Virtual Cockpit is the most innovative part of the Audi TT which combines the infotainment display and instrument cluster in a single screen.
The safetyratings for the 2018 AudiTT are not yet available because NHTSA and IIHS have not crash testes the vehicle. However, it is evident that Audi cars have never failed any crash test and you can rely solely for the same on TT. It has safety features like driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, brake assist and you can add blind-spot monitoring and active lane assist.
The Audi TT is one of the cheapest track ready luxury coupe out in the market. The low price doesn’t really take out the Audi’s luxury from the car rather Audi has given more than many rival cars. It has got plush ride quality, exquisite interiors, feature-rich cabin and comfortable seats. It is a daily driver that can be taken on the tracks on weekends.
